WHAT ARE WE CREATING?
In our Market Garden at the farm, we also grow produce and herbs, providing us with a vital outdoor classroom. Currently, our produce and herbs are sold through the Community FoodBank of New Jersey's Farm to Pantry program. We envision this garden being a place people gather for growing together while growing for each other.

Blue Herons Native Nursery offers biologically primed native plants designed not only to help farmers, gardeners, and landowners improve soil health but also to provide vital and beautiful habitats for the creatures that sustain healthy farm ecosystems. This includes birds, bees, and the countless unseen organisms that make nutrients available to plants—the vital critters collectively known as the soil food web. Nursery opening Autumn of 2025!

Experiential education: Curriculum is rooted in growing healthy plants for healthy people and a healthy planet, nurturing connections, and fostering bioregional resilience within the art and science of agriculture. Classes, workshops, farm tours and volunteer events offer space for learning, getting in touch with land and having fun. Educational opportunities will be available throughout the farm.

Agroecological coaching, consulting, and on-farm educational services are designed to empower farmers and aspiring change-makers, creating space to fast-track learning in the agricultural sector while providing support to growers and landowners.

 

Biological soil solutions: We lean into plant diversity, vermicast extracts, quality composts, biological teas, and plant-derived amendments designed to increase diversity in the soil—ultimately creating conditions for climate resiliency.

 

Our front display garden will feature demonstration gardens for people to tour and enjoy. The Native Plant Sales Garden will be home to selected native plants available for your farm and garden.

 

We are also planning for botanical art shows and products to be showcased and available for purchase every autumn, other events and fun shenanigans for people of all ages!
